Paying for Care

Mental health care is covered by most insurances. On the back of your insurance card, you should find a number for Member Services or Customer Services. By calling that number, you should receive assistance and information about the following:

  • Coverage information
  • In-network providers
  • Cost of services (co-pay, deductibles)
  • Service limitations that you might have

Additional Coverage Options:

  • Many providers that participate with the State-funded behavioral health plans including Medicaid and the Healthy Michigan Plan, including local community mental health agencies and federally qualified health centers. including local community mental health agencies (link) and federally qualified health centers.
  • Veterans can contact their local Veterans Affairs (VA) Department to check on eligibility of receiving
    mental health services.
  • Employee Assistance Programs: Many employers offer an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). EAPs are designed to help employees with life’s challenges. Professional and confidential help is often available at no cost.
  • Some providers offer a sliding fee scale, based
on income. If available, you will see this information
indicated in the Service Fees section.
